All Saints Mourino intends to provide a safe, secure learning environment for young people between the age of 10 – 17 years old. The home is registered for both boys and girls, with communication, behaviour and learning difficulties and presently provides care for young people with Classic Autism, Learning Difficulties and Communication Difficulties.

At present the home is providing residential care for young people who are severely autistic and have communication and language difficulties. Each young person undertakes an individual assessment so we may provide a tailored behaviour and education programme to ensure optimum growth and positive outcomes.

All of our young people require positive behaviour management, which is incorporated into their day-to-day routine, via their placement plans and individual learning plans. The strategies and intensity of support necessary will be determined by their individual needs, this is are agreed upon admission and outlined in their placement plan.

Verbal behaviour and a system of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) will be the system used for pupils with ASD as part of their behaviour management strategy. ABA is the approach that underpins and influences and behaviour management strategies outlined in the placement plan and staff training sessions.

This is achieved through our planning procedures which include advice and support from specialist independent consultants, who consult with the management team on general planning procedures, but also work on individual programs when requested to do so.

Our aim is to build a structured family environment within the Home, where rules and boundaries are clearly understood and where positive behaviour is encouraged and rewarded. Communication, Respect and Relationships remains the hub of our Ethos.
