We are an approved independent special school Key Stage 2 up to Secondary and post 16.
All pupils have a Special Educational Need as their primary need, as well as sensory and nurturing needs.
Our whole curriculum is written to meet the aims of our pupils with SEN and we aim for each and every one of our pupils to achieve their potential.
Our students generally arrive with a history of poor attendance, placement gaps and exclusions from school and have therefore missed (often hugely significant) periods of education.
Our job is a significant challenge but one that can be overcome and is successfully faced with enthusiasm and energy.
We believe that engaging with learning is the key to young people achieving success. We provide a creative, active and exciting curriculum that aims to inspire, stimulate and motivate all our young people.
We aim to help every young person to acquire life and social skills to gain a more independent and positive future.
Ofsted says “Staff foster exceptionally strong relationships with pupils. Pupils trust the staff they work with to support them in their academic personal and social development.” We are rated as outstanding in Personal Development, Behaviour, and Attitudes. Our current Ofsted rating is GOOD
Our Local Offer
The Government has asked all Local Authorities in the UK to publish, in one place, information about the services and provision they expect to be available in their area for children and young people from 0 to 25 who have Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (SEND). This is known as the local offer.

SEN Duty Line
All calls in relation to the SEND Statutory process should now go via the Children’s Contact Centre (previously known as Somerset Direct). The contact centre provide advice, guidance, and signpost callers as necessary. If you need to make contact please call 0300 123 2224 Option 1 (Children’s Services) followed by Option 3 (SEND).
